Andreas Schmidt is the Chief Executive Officer of Proteona, a biotechnology company working on single-cell biomedicine and immune-cell therapy. He has expertise in leading several investment, merger & acquisition activities mainly between Asia and Europe. Prior to this, Andreas served as the Chief Executive Officer at AYOXXA Biosystems and was responsible for expanding the company to more than 50 employees operating from three sites in Germany, Singapore, and Boston. He raised more than 30 Million USD in venture capital. Andreas also serves as a Catalyst for the SMART Singapore MIT Alliance of Research and Technology as well as an investment committee member of the equity crowd health investment platform Aescuvest in conjunction with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology EIT. He obtained a Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology jointly from the University of Cologne Germany and the University of California, Berkeley.
