What information is being collected?

When a user requests information on speakers or other services, Singapore Speakers Bureau may collect the following Personal Information:

  • Business contact details including name, organization, job title, phone, email address
  • Demographic information such as job title, organization name and industry
  • Event details including date, location, budget, name of event, theme or topic
  • Email address and subscription preferences while signing-up as a client

When a user submits an application to become an Expert Speaker, he/she may be asked to provide the following information:

  • Personal contact information such as name, emails address, phone number, website
  • Professional information such as claim to fame, areas of expertise, presentations (and styles), topics, links, awards and recognitions and testimonials from past events etc.

Depending upon the activity, some of the information sought is identified as mandatory and some as voluntary. If a user does not provide the mandatory data with respect to a particular activity, he/she will not be able to engage in that activity.

How Personal Information is used?

Singapore Speakers Bureau collects information in order to provide services to users and to improve products and offerings. Singapore Speakers Bureau does not sell or rent any personally identifiable information to third parties. Singapore Speakers Bureau does not share any personally identifiable information to third parties without user's prior consent

The information sought might be used to:

  • Send users the requested product or service information
  • Respond to customer service requests, questions and concerns
  • Keep users informed about special offers and new products/services and selected third parties.
  • Process financial transactions
  • Send booking confirmations
  • Meet Singapore Speakers Bureau's research and product/service development needs and to improve the website, services and offerings; and
  • Customize user experience, including targeting services and offerings to the users.

The information collected is stored to create a summary of user preferences. Data Retention

All information is retained as long as the user profile is active, the user information is needed to provide services, or as required to fulfil the legal obligations. If any user wishes to delete his/her account or request that Singapore Speakers Bureau no longer uses his/her information to provide services contact Singapore Speakers Bureau at lets.speak@speakin.co. Singapore Speakers Bureau shall respond to user request within 30 days. Singapore Speakers Bureau reserves the right to retain and use user information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Opt-Out

Users can "opt out" of receiving Singapore Speakers Bureau's email updates, newsletters directly within the email or by emailing lets.speak@speakin.co.

Notwithstanding the option to opt out, Singapore Speakers Bureau may still send users service-related announcements including, but not limited to, a registration email, benefit notification emails, emails automatically triggered by actions that users took on the Site and bill related notices. These may be direct from one (or more) of Singapore Speakers Bureau staff members.

Generally, a user may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature.

Singapore Speakers Bureau does not store such information related to the users on a personal level. Instead, it uses an amalgamation of website traffic data to improve services offered, to improve marketing, analytics, and provide site functionality.

Where is the data stored?

All the data is stored on secure servers on the servers provided by Singapore Speakers Bureau's service providers which may include external providers like Mailchimp, Microsoft, Mail Merge, and/or Google Apps etc.

How Data Security is ensured?

Sending information over the internet is generally not completely secure, and Singapore Speakers Bureau does not guarantee the security of user data while it in in transit. Any data sent by the user is at his/her own risk.

Singapore Speakers Bureau has procedures and security features in place to keep user data secure once received.

Updating Personal Information and Privacy Preferences
